We can’t wait to hear from you! Don’t forget to let your voices be heard!!

After fighting through tough opponents gaining a chance at their respective titles Oba Femi and Giulia will challenge Trick Williams and Roxanne Perez at New Years Evil. Trick Williams coming in under 100% still managed to pick up the win over a very game and dominating Ridge Holland. Lola Vice and Jada Parker went into the underground and although Jada did hold her own for a good chunk of the match ultimately picking up the win, undefeated in the underground Lola Vice. Tag team action stole the show tonight as Axiom and Frazer proved why they have held the tag titles now for 94+ days on their second reign as champions.

We come back next this Saturday for Saturday Night Main Event.

Woo! Yes! Yeah! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! What is up guys, welcome back to Wrestling Crossroads. As always, I am 1HALF, your dynamic duo Twisted, alongside Brother Pyro. What's up, y'all? And we are recapping NXT Deadline. Overall, what did you think of the show? Great show. It delivered yet again. Was there any doubt that NXT was going to deliver, honestly? Honestly, especially not with this show. And the, you know, obviously everybody that we had on the show. Right. Right. All right, uh, so let's get straight into it brother part will take us open me up the show the men's iron survivor match five men 25 minutes a shot at The winner between trick williams and ridge holland, which happens later on in the night Uh, we started the match with What was it? Wesley and javon Okay. I Wanted to be sure Ah Followed by Frasier, then Paige, and, you know, them first four, you know, they're, they're battling it out, they're battling it out. Uh, Lee picks up a pin on Evans early in the match. Uh, so while he's hitting the penalty box, that's when we get Frasier in. Frasier comes in, he's, you know, going hot, and, Quick, which is great. Which is to nobody's surprise. No, like these three being the three to open up the match. You knew the match was going to be open up quick paced a lot of high flying. Real fast movement is going to be fun. Paige then comes in. I know he picked up a pin on Evans. I don't remember who Frasier pin, but you know, we were sitting at three of. The five men involved in this match. At one apiece, Evans yet to score. Now in comes Oba. Taking the spot of Eddie Thorpe was Oba Femi. And he made real quick work of a lot of these guys in the match. He definitely showcased his talent and his dominance. Picked up a real quick fall. Uh, everybody's fighting. You know, we're tied at one apiece for almost everybody. Again, Evans struggling to pick up that first fall. Uh, at one point Evans is in the penalty box. He's not able to get out. So he climbs to the top. So I get, I get my one moment there. Which made me really, really happy. And that's because, if I remember correctly, Ethan Page pinned Oba. And then was making jokes about it. Yeah, I love that Ethan Page got pinned and immediately fought tooth and nail about not wanting to go into the penalty box. Oh yeah, of course. Um, so, Oba comes in, or Oba does get Get pinned. He's in the penalty box. He got pinned by Ethan Page. Shortly after that, Page gets pinned. Mm hmm. And now he's all, now he's, now this isn't, uh, I'm fighting because I don't want to be in there. I'm fighting for my life, to save my own life. Yep. Cuz this is post the, ha ha, I, I, I got you. Bet it wasn't very smart, now was it? No, no, it was not. Um, inevitably though, going into our closing moments. Oba showing dominance pending two superstars at the same time to count as two falls Flash question and why that counted as two falls because he's pinning two different individuals. Yes, and this isn't like a triple threat match where Yeah, you first fall to a finish Like this is everybody for themselves this is going to keep going picking up that last uh little Uh was obafemi Pinning Fraser and Lee, after I believe it was a double chokeslam. Evans thought he could, you know, tie it up at this point, and just was about two seconds too slow. Unfortunately, so picking up the win with a final count of three falls, and facing Trick Williams or Ridge Holland, facing the winner, uh, challenger for the NXT title is Opal Fenn. Final totals were Wesley at 1, Devon Evans at 2, Ethan Page at 2, Nathan Fraser 3. This was an A plus match, everything I expected, and more. Alright, um, going into our next match, we have the NXT Underground, uh, Jada Parker takes on current reigning champion, and I say that with quotations, Lola Vice. With this match, I have to point out that before the match started, we did see somebody we are familiar with on the outside of the ring. I don't know, I don't know if she listens. I don't think she does. But, we did. I'm still going to give her the shout out anyway. How about it? No, I'll let you because I will, I will, I will fumble on the name because it's late. So, name please. Uh, Sierra from, uh, local, she is a local talent, uh, in our area of the world. Of the world. Yes. Uh, we got to see her on NXT TV, that was awesome. Mhmm. Uh, Absolutely, we got to see her. Congratulations to her for getting this far in her career. Mhmm. Okay, like, that's why I needed you because my brain was going to completely blank and say the wrong name for whatever reason. So, um, that's to start it off. These women went hardcore with each other, uh, Jada really showing that she can pretty much hang for a majority of this match. She did hold her own for a very good amount. She did get Lola down a couple of times onto the mat and really, you know, one upped her. Uh, we got to see a bit of the infamous brick that Jada Parker has been using lately. However, even with the injured hand, picking up the win was Lola Weiss. You agreed for this one? Okay. Yep. Me too. Again, it was a struggle to really invest in at first, but then once they got going, they got going. Yeah, because they, they did really take a minute. Alright, NXT Tag Team Titles Fraxium and No Quarter Cat Crew. This match was insane. You saw how beat up. Uh, there was a backstage segment earlier. Like right before the match. Almost right, almost immediately before the match. Of Frasier and Axiom having a conversation, you can tell Frazier is definitely not 100 percent after, you know, dealing with the men's Iron Survivor match. Oh yeah. Axiom was like, look, do what you can, I'll take care of the heavy load, let's go out there and let's, you know, let's do what we can. Let's, let's win this thing, let's show why we are champions. Um, and I love that commentary even said it as we were looking back. And was like, look, Phraxium, when they're at odds, is when they're at their best. Which is a while to take, because usually when there's implosion or cracks in the foundation of a team, that usually means the beginning of the end, but for some reason, It works best with them. This really makes Phraxium that much better of a team. Mm hmm. Um, also reading today, PWI, Yeah. Uh, Pro Wrestling Insiders top 10 tag team, or top 100, making the top 10, was Nathan Fraser at Axiom at number 2. Congratulations to them, because that is a huge accomplishment. I don't agree with number 1, but uh, I'll air my grievances on Twitter for that one. Yes. Continue. Uh, but like very, they, I think no Quarter catch crew really did do a good job of keeping Frazier and Axiom grounded. Mm-hmm For, for, for a nice chunk of the match because, you know, with no quarter catch coup, that's how they work is more grounded. Whereas Axiom and Frazier, they like to, they like to move fast. They like to take the hot chances. They love to take the risk. Mm-hmm They're bouncing all over the place. It's really hard to keep up. Uh, but I will say I genuinely loved that Frasier really did put up a good fight even though you can tell he was fighting at like 20 percent health. Yeah. Like if this was a video game, he'd be in the red bar. Mm hmm. And like, If you're looking at a 2K video game, the entire body is red. Oh yeah. That bar is like slim to none and they still kicking out. Oh yeah, like, like this is, this is 100%. Just like watching you go through the story mode and you're like, Come on, you're red. Just go down! Like, no, that is exactly what this is. 2K, like, this match should be over and AI has, like, game sliders. Yeah. I swear. Axiom, though, put on a clinic when he said he'd take care of the heavy lifting. He wasn't playing, bro, with a little commentary for saying it was a glorified Handicap match at this point without a beat up Frasier was but at the same time Frasier still put in a lot. Oh my god. Yeah Dude axiom is built Different. Yes. Yes. Do you remember the exact moment that we had talked about when you had said he was built there? Um, I believe he took the tag finisher and Mm hmm. I still kicked I was able to kick out like that man Sir, you just got your head kicked off, you Because if I remember correctly, uh, didn't one of them go through like the table or something? Uh huh. And then, I believe it was Axiom, and then right after took the, took the finisher and still was like, yeah, no, I got this. Kicked out and was And then went on to win and retain the title for his team, because again, this man is built different. Man, was, was that such a great Tag Team match. I think a lot of teams coming into the game need to watch this. Mhm. For next. Yeah, definitely. It was, it was a beautiful match. I mean, we don't really see much from quarter catch crew in like, Tag team action or really in action in general. It's more charlie dempsey than anything But the fact that we really got to see the others and see what they're capable of was really nice And honestly, I I love that Uh, I love the two that they picked being uh Oh my god, why am I blinking on their names now? I know one is trayvon heights Wow, what's the other one's name? I know they were talking about how Heights had just come back from, uh, being in Japan. And Booker T stated that he would love to see every wrestler. Miles Bourne. There it is. Uh, every wrestler take that trip overseas. Cause he thinks it benefits everybody. It's always going to be a benefit to experience something that you're not used to and think it makes you better. I think, you know, going overseas is really a big educational thing. Oh, that's exactly the point that, uh, Booker was trying to make on commentary. Which, I love. Alright. So with that match, uh, your grade? A. Like, like, it was a flawless match. No, no plus with that? It was a perfect match. So A A Got it. Five stars. Ten out of ten. Hundred percent. Would recommend. Over, and over, and over, and over again. Alright, going into our next match we have the NXT Championship. Uh, Trick Williams takes on Ridge Holland. Booker, I got a bone to pick with you. I, okay, I understand why he didn't do his normalcy during the beginning. If you listen to what he says on commentary while Trick is coming out, Trick, not 100%, we now have a neck injury because of what Ridge caused on, uh, Tuesday. So he's already going in under and he had that like look in his face where it was not like booker's Commentary for it was not the time or the place. Nope. I got a problem with it. So He's the hype man Yeah, uncle hype man. We needed the trick is on that level of hype, but he was on that level of business Yeah, I sounded like you for a minute yeah Yep, yep, yep on that level of business He didn't need the hype. He needed to focus he needed to get his business. It was just it was weird Okay, it was weird, but we ended up, you know We'll get there. We'll get there. Okay So this match starts out you can really see that ridge is trying everything he can to expose the injury to the neck um There's You know, a lot of back and forth between the two. No one really gets the upper hand for a good moment, but then I noticed that after, uh, you know, Trick got caught in the ropes for a minute with the neck injury, that Ridge did take the upper hand for a while after that, after that point, which obviously knowing that that was going to happen. Um, a bit after that, Trick does get the upper hand again. And ultimately picking up the win for us and retaining his championship, Trick Williams, is there any other highlights that you would put with this match? I mean, this match just flowed very beautifully. There wasn't a lot of highlight moments to me. No, it was, it was definitely a good match. Uh, nothing, nothing that you haven't already touched on. Okay. I just wanted to make sure, which makes me happy. Um, so Winning and retaining his championship, you got to hear Booker T do his usual at the end if you were paying attention. Yes, I, I paid attention at the end, but it just, it felt weird, it felt off. It did, but that was, that's kind of the way you knew, like, this is not a time to, like, be the normal playful trick that he is. This is time to get business done and to check off Rich Holland from his list. Yeah. Now he's got an even bigger fate coming with Oba Femi. Alright, so I want to know your thoughts going into that match though. Which one? Like, like, Oba and Trick at New Year's Eve. How would you like to see that play out? Going personally, I want Trick to win. Okay. But that's because I, I was listening to something and I don't remember if it was on my phone or if I was overhearing it on yours. But they were talking about And saying about how him having two short title reigns back to back really isn't doing much for him. Oh yeah, that was on mine. I was watching it and they were talking about how one, uh, They're, they're, they show, you know, he can't really, he's not, uh, you can't show him as a, or portray him as a main, main eventer, a future main eventer. If this is how you're going to treat him, however, He's saying WWE really did book themselves into a lose lose situation. Mm hmm. Because, like, also now What are you going to do with Obafemi, who just came back from losing an NXT championship as well? Like, he lost the North American championship. Look He went away. I was also, something else I saw, uh, somebody had said that they wanted to see Trick Get dominated, have Oba just dominate Trick. Piling on the fact that he's not 100%. He probably won't be 100 percent going into that match. Oh yeah. Cause let's be real, uh, Sami Zayn said it, said it best when, uh, challenging Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight title last summer. Okay. We're pro wrestlers, we're never 100%. Yeah, no. Like we're in this line of work, we're never a hundred percent. No. Uh, so Oba playing into that would work. I think so. Plus, if rumors, you know, with this transfer portal and they're getting ready to, you know, shake up rosters and whatnot. Oba going over would be, would be what makes sense. Because now he's dropped the title and he's on to bigger and better things on the main roster. I mean, yeah. Another thing I saw, or somebody predicted, they want to see, again with the transfer portal, a rivalry revisited, almost. As in, uh, Trick and Carmelo? Mhmm. Okay. Melo coming back to NXT, costing him the title, you know, them going at it one more time. Before, you know, they actually separate them. Because I do genuinely feel that that story kind of got cut from us a little too early. I feel like they could have done more and I think this would be the best way to revisit and actually close us out. Okay. Um, I can't remember if we got your grade on this one. We have not. So, grade? I definitely gave it an A Okay. Alright, and then, uh, take us into our finale. Women's Iron Survivor Match. Julia, Stephanie Vakir, Sol Ruka, Wren Sinclair, and Zaria. Again, all looking at an opportunity for Roxanne Perez. Gloy. Uh, I love that they did touch on, uh, Julia's last attempt at winning the title from Roxanne and, uh, how if it wasn't for Cora, she very well could be, should be, NXT Champion right now, NXT Women's Champion right now. So I love that they really gave us that right away. Uh, you gave me Julia to start with, Renz and Claire. Those two go at it, we get, what was it, I think it was Soruka next. Yeah, I like that they're, For this match, and I know you were probably gonna touch on it, but I wanna just say, I like that there wasn't a fall super early, and it took a while. I was gonna, I was gonna say, we really didn't get a fall till about the, what, 15 20 minute mark? Yeah, I was gonna say it was probably, like, right before the last person got in. I was 15 minute mark. And the last person was, what, Zarya, I believe it was? No, uh, Stephanie was the last entry. Okay. Zaria came in right before her. Yeah. Ah. It was right before, like right as Zaria was getting ready. Yeah, so. I think. Yeah, that was about the ten minute mark. Mm. Which made me really, again, made me real happy. That they really let these women showcase their talents. Mm hmm. Um, so going in, going through this match, Salt Ruka showed up. So Ruka was, Rens Sinclair was the one I was most worried about and even she did really well. Like, I will not lie, she definitely has a bright future ahead of herself. Something you pointed out during the match, cause I had talked about her injuries on the pre show. You had pointed out Sol went in without the knee brace. I remember for the longest time she was a double knee brace. Because she came in with one into the company, and then she had the other. Just like another certain person that you like has a double knee brace. Miss Nikita Lyons. Yeah, that's because her knees keep Her over. Alright? Like, if her knees was a little bit stronger She wouldn't need the knee braces. But not her knees wanting to be given out every like three months. Look. We're going to keep that. We're going to not make that comment that I was going to make. Yep. Because that would have been super out of pocket. Yep. Let's get, let's continue, sir. Uh, So Ruka with the trio of, uh, Soul snatchers. Soul snatchers. Cause she hit the double on, I think it was Julia and Stephanie. Zario was coming out of the penalty box and as soon as she got in, she ate one for her troubles. Yep. I was like, yo, hold on, wait a minute, wait a minute here, girl. We killing it right now. Yes. Um, you know, And up to this point, I think everybody has a fall. So we're tied at one fall across all five women. Julia would inevitably pick up another one on, I believe it was Ren Sinclair, putting her up to 1 1 1, going into the closing moments. No, it was on Zarya. I thought it was The knee was to Zarya's face. Oh, I thought, for whatever reason, I thought she pinned Ren at the end. No. No. And then, uh, Stephanie tried to, you know, get, get a pin tied up. And again, this is one of those just take a little too much time to transition. It was the Javon one from earlier. And it only, like, she took too much time trying to set up that, uh, crucifix pin. And that's what, that's what caused her, I think. Ah. in time and so clearing the field to Who what to one to one to one whatever? winning the About inevitably would be julia and a shot At writing a wrong from back in october I'm looking forward to that match so much because their first match was really good Of their first match was really good. Yes. And again, if it wasn't for Corajet, I think Julia is sitting here, NXT Women's Champion, no disrespect to a Miss Roxanne Perez because she has been killing the game. Yeah. But that's where I see, that's what I see happening. Uh, I do want to see Julia go over because I think it's the right move, especially because again, With the, with the call ups essentially. With the call ups, I think Roxanne is Proving she is ready to be on that main roster and mix it up with just about anybody up there. Mm hmm Just saying. Although we know, we know the one that she wants on the main roster, but she's kind of retired Yeah. Hey, Roxanne has openly said she will not retire until said person comes back. Yeah, but she also stated she can't wait and do this forever, so she might actually have to look at reality and, uh, when it comes time Leave, yeah. Be done with it. Granted, she is only, what, 21, 22 years old? She's 22. So she's got all the time in the world! Mm hmm. Unless a career ending injury happens, but we pray that I would say but we pray for nothing But the best there because I would prefer she not get injured. She's again really well. Mm hmm She's finally met, you know making the crowd hit really believable as a heel. Yeah, she's doing well as champion and She continuously it shows why she is the future of this business. Oh, yeah, definitely Alright, well that does conclude NXT Deadline. Your, um, grade for the women's? Uh, A Okay. Overall grade to the show was an A. Alright. Um, I, before we, cause I wanna, I wanna pick a brain just a little bit. So, Julia or Roxanne, how do you see that working its way up? I do see Julia picking up the win there. Although I would love Roxanne to continue her reign as champion, I do see Julia being the one to go over because I want Roxanne to be called up. All right, and then what do you feel is next for, for, for the field, for the rest of the field? Uh, you got me on that. I mean, you look at, look at what we just had tonight. Um, you have the NXT champ, you have the NXT champions. I don't see anybody taking the titles off of Nathan Frazier and Axiom for a long time. Not for a while. Um, we already have Julia going for the title and I see her picking up the win on that one. I don't see, for whatever reason, I don't see Jada and Lola being done with each other just yet. I feel like Wwe B is gonna do a whole 180 on us, like they did with, um, Shamus and c with the bar, the seven series. We could end up with the tag team. Yeah, I mean, they're really good at doing that. Aside from that, um, not like. I could see a lot of these men being back in the main event picture as well as the women. You can definitely see that NXT is, is favoring the people that they brought in as well, which again, that's something new to kind of introduce your people to. So that's just kind of where I am. You? Um, so depending on like where, where you're looking at, like, first off, that women's, uh, the, we'll go with. You know, the four other women that came up unsuccessful in the Iron Survivor match. Again, Julia picking up the win. Uh, and I think first challenger actually ends up being Stephanie. Like they, they, they teased and played with that so much in this match that at this point. Yeah. Give us that one on one match eventually, at some point. Build it up and give it to us. Going into, and it's funny because you, you were complaining on the, On the pre show that you wanted somebody new for the men's title picture. You didn't want it to be Ethan Page. And then the look of, like, disappointment when it was over. And I just kept looking at you like, You said you wanted a new face. There's your new face. And what did I say? I don't remember. I said, I'm glad that it's a new face. Is it one that I would have picked? No. Personally, it's not. However, I'm glad it is a new face. I don't see him necessarily going over. I personally wouldn't want him to go over on trick. That's just me though Well, I don't want to wait and see what happens because I can see it going either way for that one. Yes Again, I think now you really got a phone lock in on that tag division cuz like Really? Who's left for Frasier and Axiom to beat? Hank and Tank. Hank and Tank! The fact that you looked at me like that. Although they remind me a lot of Heavy and Machinery. That part. That part right there. Yeah. For those of y'all, because we don't do visual, I am literally sitting here head on, hand on forehead just, bruh. But you love me. I do. I do. Yeah, you're right though Lola and Jada. They, they've still got some stuff to work out. Mm hmm. Oh, and Now that we know what's next for Trick, I need to know what's next for Rich. Yeah. Because we really, I don't, I don't think we got enough there either. Yeah. I agree. I have a feeling, you know, Ridge is gonna still find a way to worm his way into possibly another title opportunity, even if it's on like a weekly show and he's still gonna lose because somebody's gonna interfere. We were hoping for it at, uh, deadline and we didn't get it. I wasn't necessarily hoping for it. I was calling that it could happen because of all the hurt and all the, you know, animosity from the people formerly from Chase You, yada, yada. But I can definitely see, if not, oh I'm sorry, if not Andre Chase jumping in, then definitely Duke Hudson costing, costing it for him. If I could speak. Uh, anything else you'd like to say before we uh, jump off? Nope. We will be back this weekend for, uh, Saturday night main event. It is a pay per view that they are bringing back from Oh, it wasn't necessarily like a pay per view was more of just like one of the special weekly episodes every once in a while Okay, um, but they're really hyping it like it would be a ple so I think we're gonna treat it as a ple right now And just until we can get confirmation on if it is one or not, and then we'll uh Definitely go from there go for well, yeah go from there But we're gonna treat it right now as if it is one and we're gonna give you some. Yep feedback for it again We are off the next week the 21st and the 22nd and then the weekend after Christmas We are back with world's end for yeah AEW and then if you Keep a lookout on our Twitter and our Instagram page. We will be posting kind of our next month rundown of things because we did figure out that we have at least one or two in January. So we have Dynasty, which is that first week in, um, well, again, we have like one or two in January that we have to cover. So, um, we appreciate you guys for still being here, for still listening. We love doing this per usual. And with all of that being said, we will catch you guys this weekend. Later. Laters.
