NXT Heatwave 2025 preshow

NXT's party of the summer definitely has a lot of must see matches, we will see "Team Canada" as dubbed it by brother Pyro consisting of Ethan Page and Chelsea Green taking on the newbies in "Team USA" Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele (the winners of season one's LFG competition). We have Jordynne Grace finally getting her revenge on Blake Monroe for costing her the win in her NXT championship match. Hank & Tank will put their NXT tag team titles on the line against 2 members of Dark State in a match that is sure to be nothing short of hard hitting. There will be a number one contenders match between Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice; where one woman will go on to challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women's championship. Speaking of Jacy Jayne she will be putting her newly won TNA Knockouts championship against Masha Slamovich and Ash by Elegance. Of course rounding out the night (because if wouldn't be a NXT PLE without this title) we have the reigning NXT Champion Oba Femi taking on Je'Von Evans after Evan's won the opportunity by besting TNA World champion Trick Williams.

Whoa. Ooh, what's up guys? Welcome back to Wrestling. Crossroads Brother. Pyro, uh, filling in as lead host as Sister Twisted is still on maternity leave. We will have her back soon, hopefully. Uh, but filling in, uh, for her today will be. Once again Desario. What's going on everybody? Heat wave coming at you fast. Coming in hot. Also, I think that's why they call it heat wave. I think so, other than the fact that you know what's gonna take place in the middle of August. True. I will say them this and forbidden door being same day, same time. I'm gonna need y'all to get it together.'cause this whole overlapping thing is a bit much. A bit. You're being generous. I know. And I would prefer not to continue to have to do this. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy what we do here, but at the same time, even we can get overwhelmed. Yeah. Just a little bit. But, um, we're gonna dive right into NXTs Heatwave. Um. We have Ethan Page and Chelsea Green taking on Tavion Heights and LFG Season one winner. It should have been Zena Tyra Olympic Gold medalist. Tyra May Steele. Yes. Should have been Zena Sterling. Should have been Zena. She's also getting the shaft season on season two right now. But that's not what we're here to talk about. No, not what we're here to talk about. Um, we're gonna go, this is gonna be really fun. This really started with Ethan, you know, having the rebranded North American Championship to represent his home country of Canada. Uh, after Tavian, you know, interrupted his celebration, Chelsea Green in her secret, hervis came out. Uh, to defend the actions of a Mr. Ethan Page. This leading to, you know, uh, Avion calling Tyra May Steel for, for backup, she took out both Chelsea and Ethan. We had a peace treaty ceremony on NXT and when. W there was no peace treaty. Ava came out and announced at Heatwave Mix Tag Match. Chelsea Green, Ethan Page, Tavion Heights, Tyra May Steel Canada versus USA. I love it. Oh, I do too. So going into our predictions, it's looking like, with the exception of Cauldron. Everyone went Team Canada. I think this is a real good way to, uh, help Chelsea refine her footing. I think this is a really good way to continue to build Ethan Page each. I love twisted little notes of, of course, we have to open with this. It, it only seems right to open the show. It really does. This is gonna be the most entertaining thing I think we're gonna have out of these characters. And I am. And I'm ready for it. Chelsea Green, being as talented as she is. Ethan being Ethan. Mm-hmm. You know? This is gonna work one of two ways. They're either gonna work really, really, really well together, or they're not gonna be able to work together. No, even a little it, it's gonna be great. I mean, especially, I mean, especially we're talking about just a couple weeks ago, the social media that those two have been doing with each other. You know, wearing the Canadian tuxedos and everything, yo, and just kind of hanging out again, again. Because WWE e I'm not, we've never put it, WWE E isn't above romantic storylines at times. The amount of gold and money you will hit if you give me a romantic storyline between Ethan Page and Chelsea Green is insane. The, that, that, that. Oh, that's just printing money right there. Oh my. God, your money's making money.'cause the merch is going to be in, is going to sell like hot cakes at a fair. Yes. And again, they're, they're characters like people are gonna be invested because we're already invested with them as individuals. Yes. We're already invested with them as individuals. Put them together as a couple, just great. Again, like you said, money, printing money. Yeah. Funny thing with this match too is I was kind of talking with nurse P. Okay. She hates Ethan Page so much. She just wants to punch him in the face every, she's like, she is flat out said, she's like, every time I see him, I like him less every single time. Hmm. I wonder if his tag partner also has that same effect on people. Chelsea Green is perfect for that ab absolutely. But let's head into the next match that we got going on here, because we do got quite a few and I'm. Hoping that this is gonna be the next match on here because this is a nice little whole bad blood storyline we got going on between, uh, the new and improved Blake Monroe and Jordan Grace. Uh, we got here because at the last NXT main event, uh, you had the Grayson Blake had teamed against Fatal Influence. Yep. And they did well, and then there was the single smash, and then the next night on Evolution. That singles match that led to Blake turning on Grace, costing her shot, costing her the title opportunity. Yep. And then you have, you know, Blake Monroe coming out and mocking Jordan saying, you know, oh, it's all about me or not in my league. Actually ended up hurting, uh, Jordan Grace's neck at one point. Um, and still just kind of mocking her that you are not good enough. Yeah, you're not good enough. You're not on my level. You don't have the glamor like I do and Jordan. And then just getting really under Jordan's skid. And then Jordan just finally getting some, a little bit of revenge and attacking her after being invited to watch her debut match. Um, I'm looking forward to this because we all know what Blake Monroe, AKA Mariah Macon brings to the table, and we all know what Jordan Grace can bring to the table. Um. And with Jordan, um, this is really gonna be a telltale moment match for her because she is still trying to find her footing in NXTA little bit, which is kind of sad considering the type of competitor that she is. Right. Considering she is a well decorated competitor. Mm-hmm. She's been around the world, she's compet, she's been championed pretty much everywhere. I think this really is gonna be, make or break more so for Jordan than it will be for Blake. Oh, of course. And I only say this because. Jordan's been around a while. Blake Monroe is still pretty new to the game of pro wrestling. Yeah. Jordan Grace has been around for a while, and I personally see it as a, you need to figure out what you're doing with Jordan before it's too late. Yeah. Because you've already, you know, put her on that downward spiral. Fans are starting to care just a little less every week. Yeah. And when they brought her in for the rumble, and then even when they brought her in to take on Roxanne, she was at an all time high. She was what? Knockout champion at the time? Yep. She was on top of the world. She was a main, she was a main event. She was a special attraction. She's not known as the drug or not for no reason. She hasn't. Reached the level of successes that she's had for no reason. You guys need to capitalize on this. Yes. And this is really a version of, like I said, uh, on the Forbidden Door episode that we just recorded. Okay. Nothing scarier than a person with nothing left to lose at this point, Jordan Grace is backed into that corner. I gotta fight my way out. I have, I'm, I have nothing left to lose. I'm kind of at my rock bottom. I've squandered title opportunity after opport, or I've lost out on title, opportunity after title, opportunity. I'm not resonating, resonating well with the fans anymore. I'm not what I once was. Yeah, I I you're a hundred percent correct on that right there. Um, now going into the predictions right here, you have myself pyro, twisted and flash going. Blake Monroe. Even though we just did a lot of hyping up on Jordan Green, we did, but at the same time, Blake, Monroe, Oriah, may, whatever you wanna call is your fresh, new face is somebody that we've seen. Can be like catching lightning in a bottle, striking oil. She's young, she's talented, she's freaking hot, man. She is gorgeous and, and much like a, uh, I I really, she is the English equivalent to Chelsea Green. She is. And that's a really good way to make money. She is. Somebody you can build up and build on. And I think if you wanna solidify her position with the company, and if you want to show your fans that you made the right choice in just signing her, she has to go over on one of the biggest names in women's wrestling. Yes. All right. MXT tag team titles on the line, Hank and Tank versus. Any two members of Dark State. I don't think we've gotten the announcement. Of which two members of Dark State? No. On the last NXT show they were talking and then David, they were asked point blank, who's it gonna be? And they're like, you'll find out at the show. All right. I actually really like that for Dark State though. Keep that advantage in your pocket.'cause how do you prepare to face, face anybody, which you don't know who you're facing. And if you look back. A lot of dark states ma matches have really been three to four men. Yeah. They've all been multi man, six man, eight man tags. There hasn't really been the two on two traditional tag there really haven't, you haven't even been able to prepare for them one-on-one. You know, after Hank and take were attacked about a month, almost two months ago now. Mm-hmm. Nobody knew who it was. Hank, and take once again, attacked. This time by dark state and it was known Dark State then did Reveal. They were the ones that initially did the attacking. So, so no one's surprised? No, but I love what they're doing with Dark State. They're giving off that like 20 12, 20 13 shield vibe of we're here to claim our territory. We're going to show like, and we're going to take it by any means necessary. Dark state is what? Is a modified version of what the Shield was and has the potential to be what Nexus failed to be? Well, I was, I was also gonna maybe make the comparison they are what retribution should have been, but again, retribution also should have been what Nexus Yeah. Was supposed to be agreed. I agree. And I think they're in a really good position to make. Dark state that I agree. And I'm, I'm looking forward to seeing the progression with Dark State and seeing exactly which two members are gonna be coming out here. This, that's going to gonna be so awesome to see how they play this. Oh yeah. And with that being said, that's gonna kind of give into my prediction of you, me, hex dark State is. Who we've all gone, cauldron, flash, twisted, Hank, and Tank. I love Hank and Tank. You need to solidify dark state while the iron is hot. Yes. I, I, I agree. And the old, it just makes sense giving old school shield and like I said, giving those old school shield, uh, references that not only myself, but like many have seen, uh, and have posted about on social media. This is the right thing to do if you wanna solidify them as competitors, if you wanna build the mis mistake, and if you want them to be taken even more seriously as than just this group that's causing chaos. Yeah. Yeah. Because there needs to be, I, I am okay with chaos, but at some point you're gonna need to have that chaos, have purpose and a meaning. And right now I think that purpose is capturing. Tag Team Gold. You wanna make your name, you wanna stake your claim in NXT. You start here. Yes, because I think, and with a lot of, with a lot of teams that have done it, you have, you can use the Freebird rule, there's four of them. You can mix and match how you defend that, those titles at any given point. And that's probably the most intriguing part for me with them winning the tactic titles. Yeah. Uh, you know what though? I'm gonna get, going back to my comparisons. I forgot who I was talking to'cause I know it wasn't, I think it was, uh, one of my bar buddies.'cause he is a big wrestling fan, but I, I described Dark State as Shield Meets Judgment Day. Okay. I can see that. Where, if you remember when Judgment Day was really f. Gaining its footing. For the first time post edge, they were coming out. They were attacking everybody. They, they, they made it known that what they were after Shield did the same thing. Shield was a lot more in your face and in the light Judgment day was, I'm gonna take advantage of the little openings that I can get. When you're distracted, when you're not. At a hundred percent. Mm-hmm. Both very similar mentalities with different ways to go about it. Dark State has done a really good job of kind of. I'm coming after you one way or another. And if this way doesn't work, we're gonna do it again in this aspect. Yeah. They're not, they're not taking any prisoners and they're not sitting there taking no for an answer. But can we talk about Cutler James because he is made a lot of these promos. Really, really weird man. Oh my God. Talking about being up people's butts and how you don't want dark state behind you. Like why? You gotta make it weird, bro. I know. Especially the last one. He was like, you don't want dark state behind you. It was like, whoa, dude. And then his teeth like, well, come on. Why you, why did you have to say it like that? Why you gotta make it weird? No, I will say, I know like for as short a time as he was on,'cause Cutler James is also a product of uh, LFG. Yeah. He didn't get to experience the full thing. He was literally just a substitute for another competitor. The fact that he was able to. Compete very minutely, but like transition into his NXT role. So smoothly so well. He adapted, define, goes to show the level of work that he's put into be here and how even in that short amount of time on LFG and the time that he spent at the performance center. How much it's benefited. Oh yeah. He picked up, he learned, he soaked in what he needed to soak in. And that's probably why they didn't put him in the LFG cast originally because they already knew the potential that was there and that he could just transition right to the NXT roster. But just being there for that little bit, being able to pick some the legends, just, just a little bit, a few tightenings of the screws that he like that he needed a few of those adjustments.'cause he was a collegiate wrestler. Yeah. And collegiate wrestling. Olympic wrestling. And wrestling for the WWE E are two completely different things. Oh yeah. Completely different worlds. So like, I think it's one of those, now we, we gotta help you make that transition, we gotta help you understand this versus this. And again, I think, I think he, he became a real sponge and I think you can tell how much he really did learn and appreciate and actually pay attention. Mm-hmm. I agree. When, when in his training. Oh yeah. He's, he's definitely, he's, and it's usually the collegiate wrestlers that pick up on the business pretty easily because they're comfortable enough with their skin to be like, Hey, I know this is, you know, all for entertainment purposes. It's not about ego. It's about putting on the best performance out there and just soaking everything unless you know your name is Ethan Page, and then it is. Nothing but ego of course. Alright, well hey, moving on into our next match that we got going on Here is the number one contenders match for the NXT Women's Championship. Uh, we have Jada Parker, Kani, and Jordan and Miss Lola Vice all by and for the opportunity to take on for the champion whomever it may be at that point. Uh, that's currently, it's j cj, currently j cj Because this is for, this is specifically for the NXT one. Yes. NXT Whitman's Championship. That's right. You're right. And so, so this is a shot at J Cjn who. We'll be in action later. Mm-hmm. Defending the TNA knockouts championship. Yeah. And so we got here by, you know, basically Lola and Jada both taking claims to be in the number one contender, and then Kalani's just kind of coming out like, Hey, don't forget about me. Which honestly, when she came out, I was like, oh yeah, you do exist, don't you? Like, let, well, let's be real. Outside of dating, Carmelo Hay haven't really, you know. They're not doing anything with Kani? No. The only reason she can claim any type of stake to this is inaugural Women's North American Champion. I know. And so there was big, you know. A lot of matches between all of them to try to determine who's gonna be the number one contender. Uh, but then it was just revealed on a backstage segment after N XT went off that they were all arguing and Ava came in and she's like, Hey, you guys wanna settle this triple threat, do it in the ring. Triple threat, heat wave, boom. Simple. I like, I mean, we're, we're there. It's simple. This is gonna be a fun match. The kind of watch with everybody in there. Oh, yeah. Uh, moving into the predictions, um, on the side for Lola is myself. Brother pyro and that's it. We're the only ones on Team Lola doesn't surprise me. Doesn't surprise me, but it does surprise me, but it really doesn't. Meanwhile, hex flash cauldron and um, Rido are all on Team Jada Parker with um. Twisted in particular, saying that basically it's her time. It's her time to shine. And also F Kalani. Screw Kalani Jordan. Screw Kalani Jordan. Dude, no, I'm, we're not surprised by that. I'm not even like, no, we're really not.'cause again, Kani hasn't really been relevant, hasn't really done much with herself as a competitor. And part of that is poor booking. Part of that is there really is no connection with the fans. No, she has no charisma. She's athletic ish. No, she's pretty athletic, but athleticism doesn't always make you a great good in ring competitor. No. We've seen some of the worst athletic bodies become fantastic stars in the wrestling ring. Just didn't translate well, no, it didn't. And with, with Kalani, the, the other problem I have with her as well, and this is something that I have a conversation with, uh, nurse p all the time about, which is who are you, what is your persona? What is your personality? What are what I invested, I was gonna say? Right. And she hasn't given you a good reason to care about her as a character? No, not at all. I mean, I can sit there and pick up. But least six or seven other people on that can do exactly what you can do, if not better as well, if not better. Yeah. But again, you're, you're basically, if I took and created a character on WWE 2K, okay. That's what you are, you are this generic brand. There's generic yet athletic woman in the ring. I know why I care about Jada. She's made, she's made me want to care about her as a character. Oh, especially her promos leading into the women's title match. Uh, a couple of months ago, those were fire, dude. She, she's made you care. She's let you know why you should care. Lola, who for a while, struggled to find her footing. Eventually made you care, made you pay attention, let you know what her deal was, who she was. And this is why, and here's why I'm gonna go with Lola. Um, as, as, as my, with my prediction to win this match. Not only does she make me care, but with her recent involvement with the world of Triple A,'cause we have that. Mm-hmm. Now we have that partnership. I think it's a real good way with, she's been building momentum in aaa. She's been really solidifying herself as a competitor in more than one style in aaa. I think that's gonna benefit her against Keani Jordan and Jada Parker. And it breaks my heart to go against Jada Parker'cause she is still my favorite, one of my absolute favorites on the NXT Rockstar. I think it's. Lola's time though. She's put in a, she's put in the work across two different brands. She's helped really, she's seen more by the world because of it. Mm-hmm. I think you make her number one contender. Hell I even say, you give Lola that title so you have more eyes coming, more eyes being watching and focusing on that NXD women's title.'cause now if you're getting those AAA fans to invest in her. In aaa. If she's carrying gold for a different brand, now you wanna walk. Now they're gonna translate to, even if it is just to follow what she's doing on that other show, they're still following you. You're now bringing up more viewers. Mm-hmm. Oh yeah. To the Ann brand. Yeah. And Lola's evolution is gonna continue. She's only gonna get better, especially with her association down in AAA right now. And again, if I'm. If I am building a roster and I need to build around specific women, I'm picking a Jada, I'm picking a Lola, uh, I'm picking a jc, I'm picking so Ruca, I'm picking a soul. I'm picking Azara. I'm picking a Blake Monroe. I can't really build around Jo Carolina. Jordan, no building around, uh, either. Yeah. Any other member of Fatal influence wouldn't necessarily be my smartest option either. No. But like I'm looking at people I can build and focus on that I know are gonna grow and act, have the potential to really become true superstars. Yeah. And especially with the older generation wrestlers slowly transitioning out. You need to build'em up young and you need to sit there and get that legacy going. Now they've started really, and again, they've started doing it really well with, you know. Evolve and WEID and LFG and getting them into the NXT system to eventually move'em up to the raws and the SmackDown and getting'em, you know, involved with like, eventually a mania. Eventually, you know, a crown jewel or some whatever. Get'em somewhere, build them up, get'em on the main roster, get the people all hyped. All right. Going into our next match, like I said, speaking of women's champions and championship opportunities, uh, Masha slam itch Ash by elegance or as the WW world once knew her, Dana Brook and JC Jane Triple threat, TNA Knockouts Championship, you know. Uh, my or, uh, was it Marshall wanting her rematch after losing a slam anniversary? Mm-hmm. Ash winning a number one contenders match actually before that, back in June. So before slam anniversary, uh, for a shot to challenge and not having that right to challenge I. I feel like both women, you know, staking claim as to why they should have an opportunity at JC Jn. Great. Obviously there was no real way to resolve this other than triple threat. Yeah. Uh, going into our predictions, ridicules Les took JC Jane, as did I, no. I definitely feel like I picked Masha and this was just miswritten information'cause I'm going Masha and then Ash was taken by you twisted and flash me hex and coron all going masha sabovich to reclaim the gold that she should't have lost anybody. No, she shouldn't have lost it. And I can, I went back and forth between Masha and Ash, but I'm going Ash, mainly because of the Elegance Entourage. That's gonna be after I forget about them, they are gonna be there. They're gonna wreak havoc. Yes. Fatal Influence is gonna be there as well. And they're gonna do the exact same. They're gonna do the exact same thing. So that leaves Masha as a woman by herself, and she's gonna get caught in the crossfires and that's gonna lead to Ash. Kind of taking advantage of everything. But she was such a dominant champion. And she didn't get that way by not being able to stand on business regardless of who was in front of her or what circumstances were around her. Fair enough. I was like, please tell me I am wrong. No, by saying any of this. Masha and personally, I think as I know JC just won it, you maybe give her a little time to breathe with it, but also. I don't wanna see this T-N-A-N-X-T partnership be too one sided. No. I've been seeing a lot of fans complain about that. Uh, on socials, you need to bring out one of TNAs titles back. Yeah. And to the company. And if you're not gonna do it with the TNA world title, which I understand why Drake Williams has actually done really good work as TNA World Champion, it needs to be a Roman title. Yeah. And that's where, you know, either Ash or Masha is gonna be the right call on this right here. And there's also a little bit of, you know, tensions kind of brewing a little bit in fatal influence. Not necessarily be by fault of JC or anything, but just by little comments of like, well, at least she sits there in defense and wrestles every single week. I'm like, you guys. That was thrown to Fallon Henry by, I believe it was by, uh, Ashby Elegance, his past. Week on NXT. Mm-hmm. So, I mean, they're already planting a little bit of a seeds of dissension with fatal influence and that's only gonna play a little bit more into either TNA knockout advantage. Again, I, I just wanna see it be brought back up. I Same here, bring one of the belts back home. Especially since we're not seeing trick defend for at least 50 days. Yo. No. The way he. Took such advantage of that though again, trick knowing how to work the system as your TNA world champion is beautiful.'cause he really caught santino completely by way off, off guard. It's gonna be you and Santana. Okay? Not for 50 days. Wait, what? That's in the contract. Damnit bro. We know your contracts. Exactly. So, but speaking of type championships and also speaking a little bit about Trick Williams, let's go in into the NXT Championship where we have all beaming defending against. It that bounce of boy, the Young OG Javon Evans. Now this is gonna be, we've already seen a little bit of a preview with this match, considering they were in a triple threat with Trick Williams for the NXT uh, title. Not that long ago. It was only like a few months. Mm-hmm. And so that was a really good match with all those guys kind of going about it. Well, recently Jamon Evans was, uh. Backstage and he was talking to Undertaker.'cause Jevon didn't know what he was gonna be doing next. And undertaker's like, Hey, go for the biggest dog in the yard. And so what did Jevon do? He goes out, he's getting ready to make a announcement on who he's going after. When out comes trick.'cause trick thought that Jevon was gonna be coming for him. And then so he's like, nah, I want oba. And then OBA comes out, he's like, none of you guys are ready for me. Don't even talk to, don't put my name in your mouth. Basically. Don't talk about me. So there was then eventually a number one contenders match between, uh, Evans and Trick Williams. Evans won the right, the opportunity to fight for the NXT championship. This is gonna be an exciting match. I'm getting vibes of Wesley versus Oma when I'm seeing these two styles. Yeah, it is a very similar style. Back when Wesley and Oba refuting over the North American championship. Yes. And that, those, those matches, by the way Hmm. Great rivalry by the way. Oh hell of a rivalry. And so I'm getting good vibes from that. And I'm all here to see what type of matches this is gonna be. Because Obba, even though he is been around for a very short period of time, has proven and shown that he has Oh, superstar, next level future of the company written all over him. Yep. Jevon in that same light though also has. The potential to be the face of a company, the future star he's on. Let's, and let's talk about, he's only 20 years old. Yeah. He's still really young. He's still developing, he's still young. He is gonna, they have so many, so much time to, and so many ways to sit and shape and mold Javan into the superstar that we all know he can be. Yeah, we, we all know he's the next role and personally whether he wins this match or not, I think it really is going to solidify his spot on the roster and in that main event picture for ti for years and months and weeks and whatever to come like And you knew where you knew how much faith WWE E has in Jabon Evans when they put him in that match with Randy Orton on the, in St. Louis when they first debuted on the cw. Yes. The fact that they really gave him that moment against one of the most decorated guys in company history. First ballot, hall of Famer, Jevon got that moment. Yes. Let's talk about at 19. One of his first real ma big matches, or one of his first PLE matches was he's, he's already competed for. He's competed for this N XT title. Yes. On more than one occasion, trick was champion. NXT heatwave like two years ago, I think last year. Last year or the year before last year at Fatal Four Wave. Sean Spears, Ethan Page, trick Williams, Java Evans. Yep. But shout out to Ethan Page for his title, victory Throwing Jevon Evans in that I and Shavar, they have the faith in him. He's proven that it's not ill placed Faith either. No. It's very well placed faith, and it's only gonna get better. It's only gonna get bigger, but moving into he's only gonna get better and bigger. I, I know it, it is scary that they haven't even scratched the surface of his potential yet. Like, like I said, make whether he win or lose this solidifies him in the WWE umbrella. Win Lose OBA is primed, positioned, and ready to be that next big star for your company. You can drop the Title O on him today and have him on raw by Monday, and nobody's gonna batt an eye or think that that was rushed or doubt. Not in, not even in the slight doubt that decision making. Yeah. Not even in the slightest. Not even in the slightest. But moving into predictions. Um, you have myself. Empire here going on Oba fmi, everybody else is taking ya boy Jevon Evans. And this was a real closeup. I almost just didn't give one.'cause again, I, we've made valid cases for both men to walk out as champions. Yeah. And, uh, twisted had the nice little comment on of if he doesn't win, pick someone else. And I can see that'cause like this is now his. Third or fourth attempt at capturing the NXT title. Yeah, and or at at least the sixth or seventh time, any title because he is competed for the North American title too. But still like if you're not gonna put it on him, relegate him to the North American title and then build him back. Back up. Yeah. But again, I don't see that needing to be the case of you needing to drop him down and pick him back up. This match right here, his first real one-on-one match. For the NXT title'cause let's look at it. If you look back at the times he has competed for that NXT title, they've never been one-on-one. No. They've always been multi man assets. It's been triple threat, fatal four way whatever. Alright, cool. Now we have, now we have this moment one-on-one. Can you hang with the biggest dog in the yard? Literally he's, and I don't think he's not gonna be able to keep up. Uh, this is almost a Riley Osborne situation, or was that Riley Osborne? No, dude from that was part of no Quarter catch crew that maybe miles my miles. Okay. He, we didn't think he was gonna be able to keep up with Ohmy and at one point in that match I'm watching like he, this muck might pull it off. Yeah. Randy Orton's son almost at us proud that day. I didn't, I don't need to be midway through a Jevon Evans match outside of that first fatal four way for the, uh, last year. Mm-hmm. There isn't anything about him that is making me doubt his ability to capture gold. No, I do not. I don't need to go halfway through the match to then believe in him. I believe walking into this, he could walk out. Champion tonight. He could. I can also again see OA retaining his goal tonight. No, and that's the beautiful thing with NXT is they sit there and cr make everybody equal to where it doesn't feel like ified, squashes or anything else. This isn't David versus Goliath. This isn't, you know, big guy, a little guy. This isn't one guy out of place. Because they have done such a good job of building these guys as credible competitors. OBA is a credible champion. Jovan is a certified challenger, like he is not this out of the blue guy. You've seen the work he's put in? Yeah. Over the last two years you've watched, we are watching this kid grow. As a competitor, much like we watched Dom, and I'm going to give him that comparison. He is nx, he's Dom Mysterio, not in the sense of being, you know, that bad guy, do whatever it takes to win, but in the sense of we've wa we've been watching Dom really for 20 years, custody of Dominic Ladder match. Mm-hmm. When he finally did debut as a pro wrestler in 2020, we watched him go from this shy, scared, not really knowing what to do out of place, kid. Mm-hmm. To Dom is now one of the most. Solidified stars you have on your main roster. And the most important thing with Dom too, is he knows who he is. He knows what he's, what his worth is, and he knows how to do it. And Jovan is in that same boat. He knows what he brings to the table. He delivers, he shows up and shows you week after week what he's capable of doing. Dom has done the same thing of,'cause remember when he first debuted, it's. He's only here'cause of his dad. Yeah. That last name is what got him in here. This, that last name is what's got him into that position. He's, he went from being Ray Mysterio son to being Dominic Mysterio to being his own man. Yes, he has. And credit to him. Credits to him for putting in the work to do it. Dom again. Dom went from scared kid. I'm a tag champion. Sheepishly so. Mm-hmm. With his dad to, I don't think that man has ever gotten a bigger pop than he did at WrestleMania. No. That was when he won the icy tide and it was so unexpected and he just wanted to soak it in by running right back down to the ring. I, there, there was actually an interview pulling back the curtain. Triple H called for that'cause he was supposed to win and then just bolt. Yeah. And Triple H told him to wait. He heard the pop. He told him to run back the ring. Enjoy the moment because that's not a co, that wasn't a common thing. No. You and I have been to events in person where we've heard him get booed off the stadium. Oh. Even before, just by putting a mic up to his mouth. Be couldn't, couldn't hear him speak. Could like speak. Yeah. But like the fact that he has solidified who he is as a character and who he is as a competitor. Jevon, the fact that he has done the same, he's doing the exact same thing. I'd be it a little earlier in his career than Dom. Yeah. But Dom also got into the game a little later than Jevon did. Dom has openly admitted, this wasn't an my initial plan. Mm-hmm. This wasn't my initial goal. You know what? I'm glad you chose to do this for yourself, kid. You, you, you have earned every right. To be in this game. Absolutely. Devon is earning every right to be in the game. I agree. And it's gonna be a great one to watch. This is gonna be a great card. It's just a matter of which one do we watch first at a, or Heatwave? Probably gonna watch at AW first, because that's gonna be a lot more time consuming, I'm not gonna lie. Yeah, it is. And then I'll probably save heatwave for some point during the day on Monday.
