Halloween Havoc 2024 Recap and Reactions

Spooky season has come and gone and although we didn’t get any tricks we did get a lot of treats. Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater put on an absolute classic against Mr. Iguana and La Parka, defeating them in high flying fashion and even making their new intentions known for tag gold later in the night. Ethan Page defended his North American title against AAA Latina American champion El Hijo De Dr. Wagner Jr. in a day of the dead match that really displayed how great of a champion both competitors are, however “All Ego” had an ace up his sleeve really taking advantage of everything goes to retain his title. In a match Brother Pyro and probably many others disagreed with we saw Zaria defend the Women’s North American Championship on behalf of an injured Sol Ruca against number 1 contender Blake Monroe in a match where Zaria was more concerned about an injured Sol Ruca on the outside rather than the title, this made it easy for Blake to come in, steal the win and the title. Back to back women’s action as Jacy Jayne puts her title up against Tatum Paxley in a short lived one on one battle, in our closing moments we saw Izzie Dame interfere behind the refs back hitting Jayne with the title to help Tatum pick up the win. Tag team titles are on the line next in a ‘Broken Rules match’ anything goes and everything went as all 4 members of Darkstate took their anger to The Broken Hardyz inevitably reclaiming their tag team titles and putting all teams on notice. Main event comes in the form of NXT champion Ricky Saints going head to head with former NXT & TNA champion Trick Williams who was looking to become the first ever 3 time champion. However after a overly dominating and one sided match Ricky was able to swing momentum in his favor at the last second to retain his NXT Championship.

Whoa. What is up guys? Welcome back to Resting Crossroads. Always. I'm one half of dynamic. Do twisted alongside Brother Pyro. Hello. We missed you last week. Sorry. I had maybe like a 10 minute podcast for these guys. Sorry, I didn't have anybody to banter with, sir. Sorry, I, sorry, I didn't realize that I agreed to something the same day as Halloween Havoc. Only'cause I didn't know the date to Halloween havoc when I agreed.'cause this was before they announced it, so, sorry. Sorry. All right. Well, I'll try not to let it happen again. Let's hope it doesn't let you. Thank God. I love you. So overall, what did you think of Halloween havoc? It was, it was pretty decent. Uh, nothing super grand as Halloween Havocs passed. Yeah. But overall it was not a bad show. It, it was more of a predictable show, but pretty much a decently predictable show. Yes. It wasn't overly bad. Yes. All right. Um, do you wanna get us started? All right. We kick off the night with tag team action, the young OG Jovan Evans teams with the young one in charge, TNAs ex division champion Leon Slater to take on. The world of aaa, Mr. Iguana and La Parker, great match. Overall, yes, this was a really fast paced match. I think it fit all four men's style. I love that. During La Parker's entrance, they're making their entrance and you've seen Jovan and Leon in the ring. Just kinda having a little jam session dancing it out. It was, it was great. Mm-hmm. Loved to see it. Loved to see that everybody had fun. Yes. That wasn't really a dull moment. This was definitely one of those matches where if you blink, you missed something big. I, because again, all four men mm-hmm. Oh yeah. Know how to put on a good show. I think they worked really well together. Mm. Um, I had a lot of fun watching this match, especially once we got to the involvement of Esca. I was gonna say, yeah. That. The, the iguana puppet was involved a lot. He was, he was a lot more than we've normally seen him in matches for wwe b uh, I love that Booker t was, like, Matt was trying to say that he had no, no place being there. They referenced, uh, judgment dates from Ballor and his issues with Laca and, you know. D dude, I want, I want the de deto, uh, puppet. So bad. You know? You know what? Anytime you say, anytime you say deto, I think of hoodwinked. Deto, yes. How do you spell dynamite? Dite. Yes. He's not wrong, but great match. Beautiful action. Uh, if you're looking, and again, this really was a match just for the sake of having a match. Yeah. But I'm not mad that they threw it in here, right? No. Here, uh, if you're looking for a match to just have fun with like, not looking for anything serious, not looking for, you know, nothing major. Nothing big on the line. Yeah, nothing. This is definitely a match. I recommend everybody go and watch. Oh yeah. It was definitely beautiful. Uh, picking up the win or Jovan Evans and Leon Slater. Uh, again, great match. Congrats to them. Uh, I wouldn't mind seeing them more as a cohesive unit'cause we're gonna talk about that a bit later. That's a very fun, that's, they, they make a really good and a really fun tag team to watch. We're, we're gonna mention something about that later. I don't know if you remember in the show, but we'll get to that. Yeah. Um, your grade for this one, I gave it an a again, solid start. Solid match. Everybody just was able to fire on all cylinders. And you can tell, even though not all of them have worked, worked together a lot, they still were able to work well as a unit cohesively. Yeah. Yes. Okay. Everybody fired on all cylinders and it was just, oh yeah. It was a beautiful match. Um, next match up, we have the North American Championship on the line. Ethan Page defends against El Iho, the Wagner Jr. Yes. AAA's Latin American champion. Uh. And this is a Day of the Dead match. A day of the dead match, which essentially means anything goes yes, I love Booker T. Um, to a degree he was, uh, he was very upset that only Ethan Page's ma title was on the line. Yep. Yep. Uh, he feels like, uh, if Wagner was really a, was a real champion, his title would've been up for grabs as well. I mean, could, could you disagree? No. No, but that's not what we're doing here. No. Um, listen, listen. Ethan Page put out the challenge Yes. For his North American title, not the other way around. No. LE Hoa Wagner Jr. Didn't come out demanding a title match. Mm-hmm. Ethan Page put out the offer. Wagner just wasn't an idiot and accepted that offer. Right. Um, so going into this match, very beautiful, very hard hitting. Uh, Ethan Page did really show what he, you know, why he wanted to retain his championship, what he was, the lengths he was going to go through to retain the championship. There were, um, garbage bins used multiple times, which baby Crossroads absolutely loved watching. He was beating up the pillow while, you know, the men were beating up the garbage can. The stairs were obviously used on the outside. I'm surprised we didn't really see kind stairs. Um, I'm surprised as well. Um, we saw chairs, we saw pretty much everything else and we saw tables, um, but we didn't get called. They called for tables a couple times, but nothing was really done about the tables until later on in the match, which was kind of shocking. You think? Maybe a table spot or two. But they did use the, um, announcement table and, uh, that was used for. For a bit of time, and then you got to hear Booker T on the headset. He is like, Ethan, watch out. Watch out. And yeah, Hey, hey. He was all, he was team all ego, all match. Oh my goodness, was he, Lord, I don't think I've ever seen Booker T like kissing somebody's ass as much as he did with Ethan TI swear to God, I swear God, Ethan was the one that signed his paychecks instead of somebody else. That part, that part right there. Her. Um, but overall beautiful match, beautiful back and forth. Neither man really had the upper hand. No, no. But neither man really willing to give an inch. They no. Definitely took the fight to each other and yeah, I loved everything about it. Uh, not really one of those matches either. Like when they said ev anything goes, like, they got pretty brutal. They did, but it wasn't like excessively brutal. Yeah. Um, there was a moment, uh, that they did mention that Ethan Page was busted open. You got to see it on the other side of his, um, face paint and uh,'cause he did wear day of the dead face paint on half of his face and to represent the Canadian flag. Yep. I was gonna say, can we point out that half, half his face was the Canadian fact? Yeah. The colors of the Canadian flag. Um. Ending moments. He did throw powder into, um, Dr. Wagner's face in order to score the win. Hey, they said anything goes. And you know what? Anything went. It wasn't, uh, illegal. Um, they did mention though, after this match that there is a potential, I don't know if it's a hundred percent, but they did mention that there is a potential that Chelsea Green and Ethan Page are going for the mix. AAA tag titles now I'm just saying I could see it working. I'm just saying I'd love to see it work. I could see it working. They work so well together. They talk about how, uh, Chelsea Green is probably somewhere watching this match. Probably very proud of her fellow Canadian. I, I, I wanna see that. I, I would actually really wanna see that because I think it would work, especially. Especially'cause it's irritated, like please. All right, your grade for this match, I gave it a B. There were bits and pieces where like the match seemed to kind of drag drag a bit. Yeah. But overall, I think they performed really well. Mm-hmm. Put on a good match. Okay. Definitely gave us a good story and overall it was still very entertaining. Alright, next match up. Uh, Blake Monroe. Challenges for the NXT Women's North American Title. Zaria defends on behalf of injured friend Soka. I will say, I kind of agree with where Booker t was coming from. Zaria had no business being in this match. No, she did not. Zaria should not have been defending that title. She was not the champion? No, her friend was. Her friend was injured. Vic Joseph also talking about how Blake Monroe was trying to take the easy way out and get Ava to just hand her the title, which. I don't agree with no. If I agree in the aspect of she definitely should have had to compete for it, but I don't necessarily feel like Zaria was the right woman for the job and especially the way they, the manner in which they went about it. I think if they were gonna go about this, the proper way that they should have done it is Blake Monroe is the number one contender Battle Royal. The scene faces her at Halloween havoc. Either that or if you brought it down to the last line, like they kind of did with Zaria. Have, have the have it before the title and the champion gets it. Right. Have it before the vacant title. Vacant title, yeah. And then Zaria could always be like, oh, one soul's back. I'd like to relinquish this two soul, or Soul beats me for the title. Right. But like, but that's not what they decided. That's not what they decided like. Overall, we got a decent ish match. Can I just point out that I love Blake dressing up as the bride of Chucky? Oh my God. Was it worked so well? It really did. It fits her personality so much. It's her. Yeah. Uh, but overall decent match, it wasn't a very long match. No, it was not. I think they said maybe like 10, 15 minutes was the match. So about an average match? Yeah, a little above average. Uh, like I said, good match. Both women did. Uh, so did work decently, uh, together. I feel like there was a few moments that, you know, were kind of blocky or kind of awkward. I, I would say that one of the reasons for that was so being on the outside, so definitely soul. And, and you know what, uh, both Vic and Booker alluded to is soul being out here more of a distraction than it is a benefit for, uh, Zaria. Mm-hmm. And Loki, I think it really was'cause. Anytime they went to the outside instead of focusing on, you know, picking the bones of Blake Monroe doing damage on the outside. Mm-hmm. Zaria was focused on Soka and where she was to make sure she wasn't, she wouldn't get hurt, like props to, uh, you being a good friend, but at the same time you have a job here to do. Yes. You're supposed to be defending this title. You're not, do not focus on the person on the outside. Focus on your opponent. Mm-hmm. Blake Monroe took. Advantage of a lot of those situations because she saw you are not here a hundred percent mentally. Oh yeah, I'm about to play with your head. I'm about to live rent free in that sum. And that she did. Mm-hmm. And for that, she was also able to walk out of Halloween havoc. Your new NXT Women's North American Champion. I wanna point out the, the balls on both. So Ruca and Zaria. For the one moment where Zia's shoulder got dislocated and you saw there was a yo, she relocated it and sh and so shoved her into the ring post to pop it back into place. I, yo, I thought she was turning for a minute. Yo, respect, I, that's what I thought it was going, thought like, oh, disqualification, you know, title doesn't change hands, da, da, da, whatever. Like her involvement, like in that moment, especially like, I'm really thinking ref's gonna call for the bell ref, let a lot of go. Yeah. Especially in that moment, the fact that, you know, she put her hands on the Acts competitor, the fact that she did it and popped her shoulder back into place. Mm-hmm. That is one badass. I, I mean, not as badass as Maria Ripley doing it to herself. Yes. It's still, it's still some pretty badass stuff to do. Yeah, no, I get you. Like, I'm sorry, I've, I've seen somebody get their shoulder dislocated. I've seen the agony. Like that is not a, a fun process to deal with. You've even had your shoulder dislocated. We are not gonna talk. We ain't talking about me. Exactly. It's not, I know what it's like. I'm just saying, you know, you know the pain. Yes. And even then, I will never let somebody try to, no, no. So respect to you as a competitor for that. I think even Zaria at first was shocked, honestly. Like no, she did. You could tell she definitely didn't know how to respond to that, but then she's like, get get, get your ass back in the ring. Win my title. Keep my title on board. But again, those momentary distractions, that being one of them, I think it was like right after that that Blake really took the yeah, advantage of the injury and done advantage of the fact that you are still self focused on your friend. I'm here. I've had time to recover from the BW you just gave me. Yeah, no. Guess what? Now I get to walk outta here. Tie your title, your friend's title in my hand. Yep. That's what you get for not paying enough attention, but from one woman's match to another. Take us into the next. You gotta give us a grade first. Uh, I gave it a B or I, I'm sorry. I gave it a C. Again, I feel like they didn't really work as well together as they could have, and I don't think that they. We got enough time. Okay. So like you say, it was about a 10, 15 minute match, but I feel like it was a lot shorter. Like, I, I don't, I don't know, just, I, I, I could be wrong in the timing going back and watching, but at 10 minutes going back and watching, I don't feel like we hit that like 10, 15 minute mark. It could even be a seven minute match, but it wa I can definitely tell you it wasn't a five minute match. Okay. Um, so jumping into the next one. We have NXT, women's Title JC Jane Takes on Tatum Pley, and we just spoke about lacking chemistry. Is it just me or was this, was, was this another match of lacking chemistry? Honestly, to me, they did. They, they didn't click well until. Almost the very end. I say, no, it did take'em a minute to, it took them a very long minute to find their bearings mm-hmm. As competitors there. Um, but with that being said, I think this is also the first time they've really shared a ring together. I mean, I. Yeah, I, I could say that it might be the first time, like aside from like the Iron Survivor matches, if they were ever in it together. I can't remember off the top of my head. I don't remember either. But like sometimes it does take time to build that chemistry, which is, uh, again, that desire of Lake Monroe match. We might need to see it a few times for, they may need to go at it a couple times to really build well. Build in together, you know? Mm-hmm. And we can say the same thing about Tatum and JCJ right now. Yep. Um, so starting off the match, obviously Tatum comes out with the culls. Um, I keep wanting you to call them the Cullins instead of the culling. This isn't, this isn't Twilight. You know what their name is that damn similar. So excuse me, it doesn't Twilight. Excuse me. Um, and we ain't talking about vampires pretending to be teenagers right now. We ain't talking about sparkly shit either. Huh, who said that? Um, and obviously J Cjn had fatal influence both very early on. I would say both teams really became a factor, not only on the outside, but on the inside of this ring, um, with distractions and making sure that the others took their eyes off the ball. There was a moment though that. Both teams were ejected from ringside. Yes. Which was great on rep say, to not say, not only call for one, but to call for both. I love the, uh, you know Izzy Dame and I think Felon Henley initially got, got into it. Yes. And then the, uh, Sean Spears and I don't remember the other guy's name. I don't either got involved. And then who is the new chick that's with Fatal Influence? Uh, that replaced Jasmine? She bad mood, by the way. She's the girl that was supposed to go for the, um, speed championship when Jada Parker took over, uh, something. Laney Reed. There we go. Uh, her, you know, hitting that cross body on everybody. Yeah. Beautiful. Beautiful. Yeah, I think it was, uh, like I said, I think it was a nice call in the ref's favor to just eject everybody, everybody. He looked at the cull. Ejected them. Fatal influence, really thought they had it. And he looked at'em like, I don't know what you're laughing for. Uh,'cause y'all are gone to, um, I'll go back. That really gave both of them, both these women, you know, the, the ability to do this on their own. Uh, once it, once it got one-on-one, I think the chemistry came up that better. I think it, the match gelled a lot. Better'cause there was so much going on on the outside. Yeah. That it was hard to focus on the, the match. Yeah. People you were supposed to be focused on. Yeah. Um, absolutely beautiful back and forth. Neither woman really had an upper hand in this match and anything JC had going, me going towards Tatum. Tatum had an answer for Yes. Um, there was a lot of two counts. There was a lot of, you know. Uh, Vic Joseph, like maneuvers. Vic Joseph said something one about being happy that every after, uh, everybody had gotten injected. Yeah. He looked at how Tatum approached this match. Yeah. And he, he made a comment of she's approaching this match. Like this is gonna be like, this might be the only one she gets. Yep. And personally I think he's not wrong. I think every competitor should really approach title matches this way.'cause like. You don't, you're not just handed title matches. They don't come, you know, a dime a dozen. They don't get, just get handed to you unless you're Drew McIntyre or Rear Ripley. Uh, well, they don't really like, for the most part, like it's far and few in between that you get a shot at a title. Yeah. So like, I think the sense of urgency or the sense of like, I really gotta get this done. I really want this. Yes. Like approaching it like, this might be the only chance you have. Or the last chance you have at this title is a really solid and a good approach for every competitor to have. I agree. I wholeheartedly agree to that. Um, but like I said, beautiful back and forth, everybody had an answer for everything. Closing moments of this match, uh, we did see the cu, the callings and fatal influence all come out together. Um, fatal influence was jumping on the backs of the men. For the callings, trying to prevent them from going to the ring and essentially helping out. Tatum. The ref does get distracted for a moment. On the other side of the ring, however, we see Izzy Dame grab the title. I wanna know what her intent was with that belt. We get in there, she just, because it looks like she into the ring. She jumps into the ring and initially she's eyeing up Tatum. Oh, I'm saying it looks like she was ready to Clobber Tatum. She looks like she's, you know, obviously going for Tatum. She does not. However, Tatum Ducks and up comes jc. She hits JC with the title and leaves the ring after which Tatum picks up the win. So you're new NXT Women's Champion and congratulations to Tatum Axley. How does this give JC claim for a complete rematch? No. No. Yes, but no. Okay. Your ex, what? Your explanation. I'm gonna, let me explain. Yeah. For the longest time, RA as champion and how she got tell the title Yeah. Has been used. The numbers game. Oh yeah. Her game got used against her. Yeah. That same that there's a saying in the sport of basketball, you live by the three, you die by the three. Okay. She lived by the numbers game. She died by the numbers game. Okay. You literally, every, every trick you have used to get and maintain that title reign mm-hmm. Is exactly what was used against you. You can't be, you can't be mad that this is now, this is how you lost the title, but at the same time, this coming after both teams have been objected. Yeah. This should have been one-on-one. Mm-hmm. I, can I with their reference? Yes. I can see her having a claim. Some kind of call, some kind of claim. If I am, uh, Eva, Ava. Ava, Ava. I am barring everybody from ringside, making it a steel cage match something where one-on-one nobody can get in, nobody can get out. Like y'all are gonna duke it out and y'all are gonna make sure that this is clear between the two of y'all. Yep. I'd still put Tatum over though. I, I agree. Um. Oh dude, I about cried. Oh, I don't doubt it. You have been pushing for Tatum since she became Tatum So long. Um, after this match though, on the following Tuesday, we did get to see a celebration for Tatum, um, in which she iterated to the fact that at Halloween havoc we did not have a, a wheel of terror. She did bring it back and spun the wheel of terror. To find out her first opponent. That would've been that Tuesday night. She spun the wheel and it landed on a nun other than Miss Lola Vice. They did end up having the match, however, it was ended fairly quickly. Oh, like I didn't get to watch, uh, on xd. I, I did not. But this is from what I caught. Um, it did end fairly quick with the interjection of Fatal and floor. Yeah. So, you know, this isn't gonna, this isn't gonna end anytime soon. Oh, no, no. They got a whole storyline wrapped up with this, I swear to God. Oh yeah. There's, they're, they're, they're running it back at least one more time. Uh, your grade for this match? Uh, I gave it a b, the right person went over. Okay. Um, I do feel like there was some point in the match where things just didn't gel or click or move the way that they should have, and that's no fault of their own. Again, this is a, this really, the Rosie Pearl wrestling really is a trial and error kind of thing. Oh, yeah. You, you know, you put two people in the ring, you gotta figure out what works and how they work, what and how they work together. Agreed. So you gotta, you might have to try it a couple times. Oh yeah, definitely. Before you finally get something that clicks. All right. Next match. Uh, NXT tag titles are on the line. In a broken rules match, brother Nero broken. Matt Hardy defended their titles against Dark State, and I would love to say that it was only such and such member, but really it was all four of them. Oh yeah, definitely. And in this rule, this kind of match there real, this is the definition of anything goes. Yep. So it really didn't matter. It didn't really matter which two participated. No. Okay. Before you get started on the match, can we talk about the entrance for the broken, Matt Hardy and Brother Nero? Um, the, what about it specifically? Would you like to, to bring up the homage to Ray Wyatt. Oh, I noticed that he had the, he not only had had the, the face, Jeff face paint, but if you remember when they were, um, the Broken Worlds, the Leader of Worlds, the leader of worlds, how they would sit in the ring for their entrance. Yes. Matt Hardy above him and his arms out. You notice that Brother Niro did it for a bit, but then went into the Hardy sign and put his hands in a prayer motion, which was absolutely beautiful to see. I love that. Even still now, sometime later, people are still making the little bits and pieces to Wyndham it. It just makes me so happy, especially'cause literally right after I ended up seeing a. Video of the Wyatt six, going to Orlando and seeing Eric Rowan be so happy that he was crying alongside, I wanna say it was the person that produces, uh, Wyndham's masks. Okay. Um, yeah, I didn't get to see that, but still just being able to see how they interacted with it and how much it meant to both of them. It was like, oh my God. Was like my, my heart was, was breaking for them.'cause that's all that he wanted. And now he gets to see it, but he doesn't get to see it in person with his brothers. You know, it, it's kind of sad. But, um, anyways, enough about the sappy side stuff. Well, I was gonna say, let's take it too emotional. Uh, let's talk about how, let's talk about this match. This match and how it really was. From the word go. Yeah. Like the minute that bell ring, it was chaos. Like there were, they left, no stone left unturned. They left nothing in the imagination. They just said at a go. Yep. Oh. Uh, again, I love the, uh, the divide and conquer time. Yes. Um, was really, which we got to see a lot in the, yeah, it was really smart because the Hardees knew they weren't gonna have a chance with, without format. Oh no. So what did they do? They immediately tried to knock out, I think it was, uh, sugar, whatever, the fudge. I don't remember. I, I, I remember Booker t calling him sugar. Okay, well, sugar and, uh, and what, what was his name? What was his name? Name? Cutler James. Okay. Uh, I know he definitely took, he got taken out. Yeah, they, they were, they got taken out at, uh, pretty early in the match. You take them out now you, now it's two on two. Yeah. Now you have a slightly more favored man, uh, opportunity at walking away with your titles, right? Uh, again, all four men. Brutal. This is what, look, I wanna regain the titles I shouldn't have lost.'cause I shouldn't have. I wanna retain these titles because we feel like we can. You know, bring them up in prestige, which I don't entirely disagree with. Mm-hmm. I still feel it shouldn't have come at the expense of dark state, especially with them being such a new and young, fresh tea. Agreed. But you know what? All four men came in. There is just so much to talk about in this match that trying to pinpoint any one moment Yeah. Would be extremely, extremely difficult. I will say the fact that. We had, I think it was, ah, I can't remember the, the, the guys in Dark State's name. I can't either. Uh uh But there was a moment we went where Jeff was going. Swanton? Yes. I don't remember who it was that was on the table. I don't remember what was, I think it was the guy with the o on his trunks. Okay. I, I don't remember what his name is, but as he went, uh, as he went, as Jeff went to Swanton, his opponent rolled off the table. I think it was Osirus. So it's Dion Le Lennox Osirus Griffin. Cutler James Qua Sugars. Okay. That's why. Okay. You know what, that's why Sugar clicked in my head. But yeah. Cutler, and it was Osirus that he, he did, but yeah, Cutler and Saan were taken out. We're taking out relatively early. Mm-hmm. Um, but yeah, I wanna say it was Osirus. Uh, was set up for the swanton. He's able to roll off the table. Yes. Jeff went through two tables right then and there, kind of really giving drug state the upper hand, uh, it being two on one. Uh, Cutler and Saquon were able to recover. They got involved again and walking out of Halloween havoc two time NXT. TAG team champions. It is dark state. It, uh, I loved this match. It was definitely for the hardcore fan. Um, if you're a fan of like ECW back in the day, the hardcore match, the extreme style, yeah. This is definitely a match you want to watch. This is definitely a match you look into. Um, now we go post match. Yes. They cut backstage. Leon and Jevon are wa are talking amongst each other, you know? Yep. They just watched yo feel bad that like, I'm mad that Dar State is two time champions. Oh, Leon's like looks at Jevon. Do you think we should have helped him? Yes, but they said they wanted to go at it alone, so we're gonna respect the OGs. Yeah, but we still gotta get our lick back. He's like, yeah, from Bound for Glory. Like I was thinking the same thing. He is like, what do you say? We go after them tag titles. I'd love Leon looked at him, was like, let me wrap up some stuff. I gotta finish. Not only that, but I say give them a long rein. Oh, and if you actually do pull the trigger on putting the title on them, yo, y'all just created something. I don't think they're even aware of what it could be. Yeah, definitely. They're, I don't think they're aware of how big it could be, man. Oh yeah. Um, you're great for this match. What was it? Uh, I gave it, I gave it a b again, there were some, some moments that I feel could have been chopped out a lot better. Yeah. But overall, great match. We got a full story out of it. I'm okay if you know the Hardys. Don't try to invoke a rematch, by the way. Please don't. But also, I don't know, give me an eight men tag match. Dark state. You gave me dark state. You give me the Hardy's, Leon and Jevon. Agreed. I feel like it'd be a very fun match. All right. Um, main Event is our NXT, world Title Ricky Saints. Defends against Trick Williams. Lord Trick, you are turning into Drew McIntyre. That's anytime you lose a title, you gotta whine about getting a title. You need to stop. You are not Carmelo Hayes. So now you wanna try to be Drew McIntyre and it's just not gonna work. It it agree with me. It's just not gonna work. It. I mean, I mean he got, he got the title match, but it, um. You hear how much we ramp on Drew McIntyre for getting title match if for title match. We, we started doing the same thing with r Ripley. And, uh, it's time to have that same energy with, uh, Williams. True Williams Lord have mercy. Because, you know what, if it wasn't him being TNA champion, it was, we're gonna, we're gonna go back before his TNA title, right? Yeah. How many times he had a shot at the uh, N XT title? I believe when I was looking at the statistics. When they had brought, um, when he had came out, they were talking that this is his 15th title match. 11 of them was him d uh, I think it, it was like 11 defending or something like that. 11 of them were like main eventing, something like that. Um, I'd have to go back and double check and. Right. Make sure I'm a hundred percent correct, but something along those lines where it was like only so many. Was he the challenger for other ones? He was defending the title. Okay. So, but point is he's been in the title picture for longer a lot for the la and since he and, uh, mellow broke up. Oh yeah, definitely. Um, so this badge, very heavy hitting every, both men had an answer for everything. Mm-hmm. I mean, it was pretty heavy. Is that really how you saw it? I saw it heavy hitting on trick's. Part, I was gonna say trick dominated like 80% of this match. Ricky Saints never really was able to get out the gate. He never found his foot. He never really found his footing. He really did. Then again, they're sloppy together. He didn't really get to find his bearing like trick dominated. Most of this match. Like, I guess I just remember the more ending part, closing moments, almost all of this match was favored trick Vic Joseph even noticed like, and Booker t noted like, yeah, this has been more super lopsided trick Williams has been in control almost the entire top. It was a very heavy hitting match though. Like on trick's part, it was very good dude. He, he wanted, well, he controlled, he had an answer for everything. He controlled the pace of the match. He controlled his opponent. Like a, like a traditional big man, and that's not something I'm used to seeing from him. No, but I think it's more of his heel persona. Like it was, well even then, like his heel persona has been super flashy. Super. I'm gonna show off. This was more, this was less that and more coordinated, more planned out, structured he took to this match. Mm-hmm. Like Oma, I think he controlled the match much like Oba Femme Prime Big show. Well, you think, like you think about it, you think these traditional big men, big men, that's the direction he went. Not his usual. I'm going to show off a metric tone of athleticism. Well, you know, think about it. He just lost his title. What was, what was working in that match being flashy that would work in this match. Let's talk about the tools that brought him to the dance, though. That flashy persona Oh yeah, definitely. Is what got him to previous world, uh, type Hyatt Reigns as an XT champion. That flashy persona Oh yeah. Is what led him to being TNA world champion. But I think what he, what he kind of went in as mentality wise was. Okay, this may have worked in the past, but now let's switch it up. Let's try something new because I did lose my title here. I was say, because clearly where clearly what worked in the past wasn't working anymore, right. That's more or less where I was going. And then when you look at it too, I've noticed something and you can completely disagree with me'cause you know these might have bit better than I do. Um, but Mike Santana and Ricky Starks kind of have more or less of the same in ring style. Am I wrong? You are though. Am I? Uh, again, correct me if I'm wrong with Saints being the smaller guy, he's definitely reliant more on his speed factor, whereas Mike Santana's got the brawler mentality, the fighter mentality, the. The Eddie Kingston approach, but I'm in your face. Mm-hmm. What are you gonna do about it? However, I did notice that in his match against trick, he was using speed. Mike was using more speed to counteract trick with his athleticism and his big guy. And that's more of the, I now have to figure, I have to come up with a plan that's gonna throw you off. Okay. Because think about it, they've, this is now, I think the second time they've gone at it. Granted, the first time Santa was, Mike Santana was involved. It was a triple threat match. Yes. Involving Joe Hendrick. Yeah. Had to, but again, your, I'm in your face mentality. Yeah. Can only take you so far. This is a, now I gotta add a few more tricks. Okay. To really throw you off now that it's one-on-one. Mm-hmm. Maybe I alter, I alter the, uh, recipe just a bit. He or the equation Just a smidge here. Okay. To help me long term. I mean, I remember, you know, um, Santana Ortiz, but we didn't really watch, I was gonna say, but let's be real saints. He's more prone to like, you know, to take you to the ground or, you know, hit the, the, the, the high flying wounds. Yeah. Santana's never. Really gonna come off the top row. Oh no. But I like looking at Santana from now and seeing how Ricky is, you know, from the last time that I had seen Santana, their moves did seem kind of similar to me. And again, like I said, correct me if I'm wrong, which you obviously did.'cause I'm not as familiar with Mike Santana as I'd like to. No. Um, I will say, but upon seeing him, you know, the last time, and Ricky saying this time their moves were kind of similar, you were No, I was gonna say, uh, like, all right. Yeah. I guess like in some degrees, yes, but like I said, when you really break down the components of their fight style, their in ring style, they are, they're extremely different. You can see. Okay. You notice the differences. Okay. Um, closing moments of this match. Obviously a majority of it was dominated by Tur Williams. Ricky Saints was able to pick up speed and momentum in his favor, continuing his current reign as world champion. Um, your grade for this one? A to C. C. Okay. And reasoning being? Uh, I just felt like one with how lopsided it was. Didn't really get to see them tell a story or really. See how they, how well they could click together. Yeah. Because they wrote it out to, you know, be favored trick the majority of the time. Plus, I feel like the, the end of the match was kind of rushed. Yeah, I agree too. But again, we've even said it like a lot of the times with our main event matches, it could be because of timing, because they didn't want something to run over, yada, yada. And unfortunately, we as the fans. We notice that type of thing if you do like the analytics like we do. Yeah. And we, we truly do look heavy into it. Yeah, definitely. Um, with that being said, that does conclude Halloween havoc. That does, we come back next at the end of this month. Yeah. For Survivor Series war games. Other than that, uh, brother Power and I have discussed that we will be covering NXTs Gold Rush. Which is a specialized two week episode that they are doing. This will be every single title from NXT triple A and TNA on the line during NX T's television times. I'm okay with this. I'm okay with this a lot. Oh yeah. Um, so we will be watching on Wednesday as unfortunately we're not able to live on Tuesday, but we will be covering it the weekend of, for both weeks. Yeah. So. With that being said, were we gonna do full gear or did we deem that that wasn't gonna be one of the big ones that we cover for a EW? I don't believe that was a big one. That we Okay, well then Yep.
